Worth the money, especially if you're buying used. A useful intro text on comparative politics - discusses methodology, approaches, major contemporary themes in CP. Well written, but if you already have an intro text on CP, this will likely be redundant.

absolutely hated the beginning

this would have been a good book....but the beginning made it just ok...the beginning with the alternative/sex club was a turn off...having sex in a room that others use at a sex/alternative club...(not cute)...that part seemed to be thrown in there because that is the way that a lot of books are heading.....the rest of the book was pretty good but I had a hard time getting past the very beginning of the book......I pre-ordered the book ...and if I had known that was a part of the book I would have never purchased it...I usually like this authors work....but I will have to think twice about purchasing new books from her if this is the direction that she is going....I had just read the soldiers baby surprise by this author and thought that it was pretty good....but this turn has given me pause......

Don't waste your money.

Do not buy any more books from this woman she is a plagiarist! Just saying if she can plagiarize one book she can plagiarize this I haven't read any of her books since I found out she is a plagiarist but I use to be a fan of hers. And when I found out she copied word for word and just switched out the title and and characters names it was a sad day for me the book of hers was Too Close For Comfort. Just look up Stephanie Morris Plagiarism.

I love a man in uniform, and I especially love interracial stories (BWWM), this story is so heartwarming. Shayne is a Navy Seal, with no intentions of having a family because he is a military man. Iyana is still recovering from a broken heart from her ex who was a married cheater, so needless to say Iyana is not in the market for a new relationship. Both Thayne and Iyana think they can share one night of passion and quietly walk away! That so is not going to happen. This story is full of love, respect, and caring for each other that the reader will definitely get misty eyed. This is a love story, and readers of all genres would enjoy reading it. Great story, it would be more interesting if more information had been given who the other characters are and how they relate. I can't wait to read the next story about another military man. I just love a man in uniform!

They're really mailing it in on these calendars

This was a christmas gift for my son last year. I've been a Simpsons fan since the Ullman show and I'm happy to see him take a liking to it as well so the calendar was a slam dunk gift. I do have to say, they do a very lazy job tossing the calendar together.....meaning that for as many seasons as the show has been on and with all the seasonal based episodes they've done, hardly any months aside from October & December give you the slightest inkling as to what month it is. Despite the implicit range of this literary reference, the boundaries of Eliot's own work are much narrower. Forsaking any real examination of Springsteen's work itself, Eliot instead traces the rise and fall of former manager Mike Appel's relationship with Springsteen. Eliot's narration is straightforward and well-executed. He jumps nimbly between protagonists with the simplest changes of inflection and intonationÐno small feat considering the large amount of directly quoted material, including a highly effective dramatization of court transcripts. i liked getting this side of the Bruce story.
It definitely humanizes Mike Appel and he deserved a better shake than he got. but what other outcome can u expect from two hard driving obsessive personalities? ( kinda reminds me of the john huston movie: treasure of the sierra madre). Enjoy!

Zig Ziglar hit a home run with this book on selling. He gives so much information on the art of sales from his trial and error. I mean, who wouldn't want to invest in this book to save time from making the same mistakes that Zig made? I highly recommend this book and I will be reading it over and over again.

By the way, I just have to say that Amazon is so fantastic. There was a discrepancy with the shipping address for this and 2 other books that I was to receive. Amazon re-shipped the books to me, at no additional cost, and they arrived the next day because of overnight shipping. They were so considerate and took care of me. I am a VERY satisfied customer!

Not only does this book teaches you how to sell, but it also helps you tap into yourself. You find new area's of strategy that you didn't read in the book, just because the book plants so many seeds. I have sold 6.7 million dollars of merchandise this year from this books tactics alone. It is a must read for not only anyone looking to sell, but also anyone looking to buy.

I owe Zig Ziglar. Big time. This book increased my ability to demonstrate and sell our service dramatically after one read. Zig tells you and then sells you on the fact that you've gotta read his book three times: once with quick notes in the margins, a second time with thorough notes and a third time with a steno pad so you can make your own "Secrets of Closing the Sale."

I've purchased three copies of this book. Two for myself, one to give out to my staff. I started out thinking about sales in the same way most people do - sleazy scumbags out to make a fast buck. I started out wanting to make more money. I ended up learning that "You can have anything in the world you want if you'll just help enough other people get what they want."

Ziglar teaches you, from the beginning, that there's no room for success in a salesman's career if he's taking the fast route, making the quick sale and then locking the door behind him.

Ziglar teaches you that if you want to make a living in the profession of selling you have to truly believe in your product. You have to be so convinced that your product is the right product to fit your prospects needs that you can't possibly believe or understand how they wouldn't want it.

Yeah. Ziglar teaches the closes. There are hundreds of scenarios and stories that demonstrate various closing techniques. Most of them are great (a few are cheesy).

But what makes this book so good is that it constantly drives it home - a good salesman is an honest salesman. A good salesman has his customer's best interest in mine. A good salesman has a solution to a need of his customer. When you help the customer, they will help you (with money).

When I finished this book I felt I needed to learn how to prospect and find new clients for the business I manage so I could show them why they needed us. I started reading books on cold calls and searching the internet for more information. And I started to notice a major trend...

Anyone who knows anything about sales has studied Zig Ziglar's Secrets of Closing the Sale. You'll see the concepts, ideas and phrases from this book echoed throughout all sales-oriented literature. You're going to see direct quotes. I guarantee it.

Isabella was a librarian for the "committee", a group guarding earth from otherworldly icons. When she learned the Whitelaws, werewolves, possessed a very powerful book that could do untold harm, she infiltrated the compound and stole it. While fleeing she was gravely injured, just as the werewolves move in for the attack, a werejaguar Donovan comes to her rescue. He has to change her into a werejaguar to save her life because she is going to die. When she awakens her body is healed and she is just as determined as ever to destroy the book. From the moment Donovan saw her he felt a connection. By the time she was turned, he knew that she was his soul mate. Isabella doesn't trust him with information about the book but does have sex with him moments after learning she was turned into a werejaguar.
Black Moon had potential but failed miserably. Normally I overlook grammar, usage, ect errors but this novella was riddled with them. In many places, the author used a noun and pronoun together such as "Donovan he....." The kindle formatting is awful. The close word repetition was enough to have me going a little crazy and where the author varied her usage it was often done poorly as if she clicked the thesaurus button and randomly picked a word.
Granted this was a novella it lacked any depth. The characters were boring at best and had no real likable qualities. There was very little dialog and what little there was did not flow. The sex scene was so poorly written I ended up skipping half of it. I quit reading at 84% because it was just too boring. There was not one point in the story that peaked my interest or left me feeling like I had to keep reading.

Why is this a trilogy?

It is a very short story and as part one of a trilogy does seem it would be better if they were combined into one book. Although a very descriptive piece of writing, with adult themes, there is little plot and it can be summarised as; a librarian steals a magic book, she is followed by werewolves, she is rescued by a werecat, the power of the book is revealed, she is turned into a werecat and the two werecats make love. To be continued.

I Wish I'd Paid Attention...

...to the other reviews. They weren't kidding. This is bad. Really bad. Thankfully, it's also very short and, best of all, it was free. If I'd paid money for it, I'd be really upset.

The author seems to be aiming for the fantasy-romance genre, but it reads like a clunky "Letter to Penthouse," if that letter was written by a high school sophomore with a pocketful of cliches. If you need a primer on how NOT to write a story, this one is your best example.

Kenny Aronoff shares his inspirational, cautionary, and captivating story of reaching the highest levels of the music business in his autobiography Sex, Drums, Rock n Roll! Aronoff may not have the name recognition of some rock stars, but he s immensely respected within the industry as a rock drummer par excellence. Aronoff discusses his childhood, formal musical training, and his first big break with John Mellencamp, which eventually led to work with other artists in the musical who's who. As one might expect, Aronoff has a few crazy, sordid tales to tell about life on the road, but Sex, Drums, Rock n Roll! succeeds because he also shows a thoughtful, reflective side. Aronoff tries to portray personality conflicts fairly and from all sides, and his technique of including brief comments by the people in question is highly effective. Aronoff displays a striking and relentless drive to achieve his goals. From his early classical studies to competing with other drummers for work, he never gives up, always pushing himself to practice harder and do better. This aspect transcends drumming and becomes an overriding theme in his life. Of course, there's a price to one's personal relationships that goes along with flying around the country at a breakneck pace, and Aronoff is not shy about detailing his difficulties in this respect. Kenny Aronoff is one of the most famous rock n roll drummers alive. In his nearly four decades behind the kit, he has played with the greatest acts, from John Mellencamp to Bob Dylan. He has taught and performed all over the world on the best stages. He has held many posts, from house drummer for the Kennedy Center Honors to kit man for Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr on the Beatles CBS TV special The Night That Changed America. Aronoff remains one of the most active and in-demand live and session drummers in the music business. He lives in Los Angeles.
